Barloworld Equipment required a new mascot for the year 2012 as they needed a "creature" that could go with their mining responsibilities as well as be able to do more than 1 task at a time... that is why they needed Shester to have plenty arms as well! The Cartoon Strip was placed in their internal newspaper to show how the old Shester had transformed to become the new and improved Shester.
